Are The Ordinary foundations that extraordinary?

You've probably heard about the hype surrounding The Ordinary, and how they had a 10,000+ waitlist just to order the foundation. I rolled my eyes at the idea of waiting that long just for a foundation. It better be made of unicorn tears and make my face look like real-life Photoshop!

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea vol. II Palette

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea vol. II Palette

I've been wanting to get this particular eyeshadow palette for a while, but I held off because of the mixed reviews. There were some complaints about it not being pigmented enough. When I got this goodie in the August Boxycharm, I was super thrilled!

September 2017 Boxycharm: BoxyBaddie

September 2017 Boxycharm: BoxyBaddie, BoxyBaddie, September 2017 Boxycharm

Despite Boxycharm having issues due to Hurricane Irma (their headquarters is located near Miami, but the warehouse is in Massachusetts), they were still able to ship out the boxes. I wouldn't have minded not getting this month's box because it's more important that everyone stayed safe when the storms hit. However, I did notice some charmers get their boxes, and I didn't get an shipping notification in the email. No tracking, nothing. When I checked my mailbox though, there it was! There have also been issues with the Postal Services due to the hurricane.

My wedding dress journey: from pin to win

David's Bridal, Oleg Cassini, David's Bridal Oleg Cassini, CWG658

Today marks 6 months of Cecilio and I being married! Wow, where did the time go? It felt like it's been forever, but with a blink of an eye it's been half a year. Because of today, and the fact that September is the most popular month to get married (June–October is peak wedding season where I live), I want to share with you guys my wedding dress process (from pinning to fitting to finding the perfect one), and I will share some tips for brides-to-be.

Fenty Beauty: Killawatt Highlighter and Gloss Bomb

Kim Kardashian may have broken the internet with her butt on the cover of Paper Magazine in 2014 and her contour sticks in 2017, but Rihanna SHATTERED IT it with her beauty line that released on September 8.

September 2017 ipsy Glambag: Like. A. Boss

My ipsy glambag came just in the nick of time, and I couldn't be happier, especially with the products I received this month!

Dr. Roebuck's POLISH 2-in-1 Facial Scrub and Mask

Dr. Roebuck's POLISH 2-in-1 Facial Scrub and Mask

With my dry skin, I always need to exfoliate to slough off dead skin. I don't like to spend too much on skincare because I don't trust that it'll always work or give me the results I want. Here's a little profile on my skin: dry, dark circles and lines under my eyes, red on the nose, white heads on flaky dead skin on the sides of nose, tiny pores on cheeks, and smile lines (that get accentuated with foundation).

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Heat"

It's getting hot in here with Urban Decay! Along with their every-so hyped up Naked Heat palette, they released 3 new lipsticks and 2 colored eyeliners as a part the Heat family.

Frida Kahlo x Missha: Perfect Cover Tension Pact

I've never gotten too into the cushion compact craze. Like BB cream, it was popularized by the Koreans and then started taking over the Western beauty shelves. However, when I saw that Missha was releasing compacts with packaging designed with the late artist in mind, I knew I had to get my hands on it (there I go again...all about the packaging).

Photo Diary: Santa Cruz, CA

Santa Cruz, CA, Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

It may be September, but no one is thinking about cardigans, scarves or boots in Northern California right now. Here in Sacramento, the temperature has been fluctuating between 100–110°F (37.7–43.3°C). Most people here love to go to the Bay Area when it gets that hot, but even SF had a 105° heatwave. The SF I know is windy, foggy, and sweater-weather inducing all year round.

My Anti-Wishlist (part 2): Beauty products I would never buy

I love seeing anti-wishlists these days. 2 years ago, I would've wanted to run to the store or be first at the online checkout cart to get the new latest release. I would've wandered around MAC and Sephora, not finding what I originally wanted but still purchasing something "just because I was there and needed to make my trip worth it". Even last year, my spending wasn't all that great (but it was much better than 2015). Being married and having my own place definitely plays a factor in how much I'm aware about my own spending habits, but having my new job will make it a lot more tempting to spend (it doesn't make it easier that a strip mall is opening up near our place in a few months, and Ulta is going to be one of the stores).

How I clean my makeup brushes

Every beauty junkie knows that cleaning makeup brushes is a pain in the ass. It's a necessary evil, because you don't want bacteria growing in your brushes. How gross is that? Also, using dirty brushes are one of the causes of skin breakouts.
