Summer Hot Pink Lip Edit

My love for bright, hot pink lipsticks knows no bounds. One of the reasons I look forward to warmer months is being able to wear them...although they can also be an alternative to red lips during Christmas party season, and do we really need to be tied down to seasons?

July 2017 Boxycharm: Cutie Pie

July 2017 Boxycharm: Cutie Pie, Blinc Electric Eyes Eyeshadow Palette, ColourPop Beeper, Bareminerals invisible light translucent powder duo, winkylux universal eyebrow pencil

I admit that I'm not the most patient person, so I was getting really antsy when Boxycharm sent me an email on the 5th that my box has shipped and the arrival date was pending for about a week and a half.  I kept wondering what the delay was about. I was obsessively checking my tracking everyday. Finally, I got the notice that it would arrive on the 21st! That's the longest I've waited for Boxycharm! But now that I have it, it feels like Christmas!

A Newlyweds' Apartment Wishlist

In my 27 years of existing, my 1-bedroom, 670 square-foot apartment is the smallest habitat I've ever lived in. But I have never been happier.

Bio-Oil First Impressions

To be honest, I have not used beauty oils all that much, with the exception of the Smashbox Primer Oil for my face. I know I have naturally dry skin all over my face and body, and I've struggled with more dryness since using our shower from our new apartment. The Soap & Glory Righteous Butter has been my savior for my skin.

Linkin Park & Fort Minor Playlist

Cecilio works at the local news station as a digital journalist/producer, so he gets access to breaking news before it gets released to the public. On Thursday, when he told me that Chester Bennington from Linkin Park committed suicide, I was in shock.

How I use Twitter to promote my blog + grow my following

How I use Twitter to promote my blog + grow my following , twitter, seo, blog seo, growing twitter blog, bitly, buffer, twitter chats

One of my biggest mistakes when I first started blogging 3 years ago was not utilizing social media to its fullest. Ok, when I did start Floraful, I created my twitter to go along with it, @im_hannaheunice. I followed all of my favorite beauty and fashion brands, celebrities, politicians, local businesses, etc. I promoted my blog posts like I do today (my proud moment as a baby blogger was when I wrote a post about my birthday haul from Francesca's Collections, tweeted it and they read it, and sent me free items), but for the most part, I had no clue what I was doing. I didn't know how to find other fellow bloggers. Overtime, I did start finding other bloggers (and they found me as well), promoted more often, and joined Twitter chats.

July 2017 ipsy Glambag: Over Easy

July 2017 ipsy Glambag: Over Easy, July 2017 ipsy Glambag, ipsy x gudetama

Finally, after resubscribing to ipsy in April and getting a few months worth of crappy glam bags, I actually get products I actually will use and enjoy!

Travel Bucket List

I've always had the itch to travel, and I can say I get it from my mama: she was a flight attendant in the 80's, and got to live in Bangkok and Jeddah. Meanwhile, she visited NYC (her first trip to the US in 1981), Madrid, Paris, Rome, London, Seoul and Singapore. She also traveled all over the US for business trips.

My Job Interview Makeup Look

I've been having some luck again with scoring job interviews, until I actually go there and answer my questions. That's when I start to get really nervous, stutter, and talk really really fast.

L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara, L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise, Too Faced Better Than Sex Dupe

I don't know about you, but mascara is one of my least-bought beauty products. I feel like to me, it's an afterthought at times...but I shouldn't. Sometimes I forget to add it in my beauty routine, but it is one of those things that tie a whole look together. It just gives me extra oomph and femininity on my "no makeup" days.

SPF Foundations on Rotation

You should be wearing sunscreen all year, rain or shine, but let's face it...most of us don't. We tend to wait until May or June to roll around before we slap on some SPF.

Why I'm making peace with not reaching my "goal" wedding weight

I absolutely love this photo of Cecilio and I. This was taken during our first look, and it was an emotional, poignant moment, just about an hour and a half before our ceremony. When I tapped him from behind, we were both holding back tears. I had this printed as an 11"x14" photo at the local print shop to frame above our TV.

June Beauty Favorites

Holy crap, half of 2017 is gone! Time flies when you're having fun and having an eventful year.

Hannah and Cecilio's Wedding Video

As I was planning my wedding, I learned that one thing most brides regretted was not budgeting for a videographer.

June 2017 Boxycharm: Downtown Charm

June 2017 Boxycharm: Downtown Charm

This is the 3rd time I have resubscribed to Boxycharm. When I found out that they letting go of the waitlist to have more people sign up, I immediately jumped on it. I've had wonderful items from them and I wanted to give them a try. But because I signed up recently, I got my box later than others.

Summer 2017 Beautycon Box

Since I subscribed to Beautycon, I've been looking forward to a box full of goodies at the turn of each season. Beautycon is a quarterly beauty box that gives you at least 10 full-sized products such as makeup, skincare, hair care, and beauty tools.

Testing the Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Lipsticks

Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Lipsticks

I love liquid lipsticks but my dry lips don't. Thankfully, Smashbox released a new line of liquid lipsticks that are comfortable to wear!

My Summer 2017 Bucket List

Happy Summer Solstice, I say after I whine about how hot it is every summer in my crabby tone of voice.

Thank you ColourPop for this beautiful haul.

colourpop, colourpop haul, colourpop love bug, colourpop secret stash, colourpop prim, colourpop honey b, colourpop frick n frack, colourpop glo up, colourpop bronze me, colourpop kaepop

Every beauty blogger and their mother knows about ColourPop, and now I'm hearing more and more about them now that they ship internationally. I have a love-hate relationship with their Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks: although they have beautiful shades, they are the most drying lipsticks I have ever tried (along with the Tarte quick dry matte lip paints and the CT Matte Revolution lipsticks). However, I saw that they had a sale going on and I wanted to take advantage of getting some of the products before they discontinued: let's just say I was not disappointed!

Essentials for a Sweet Beauty Sleep*

I admit that I am horrible about getting a good night's rest. Old habits die hard, and I can recall endless nights of sleeping until past midnight to play video games when I was 8 (and waiting for my dad to come home from work to play with me). Fast forward a few years later turned into staying up late to chat with friends on AIM or the phone (oh, there was texting, but these were the days when you had to worry about using up data and this was way before IG, Facebook messaging, or Snapchat). Then came the all-nighter hours of studying, projects, and homework for my years of community college and university.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette, Zoeva

There are so many amazing beauty brands outside the US I want to try, and some of which are arriving at our local Sephora and Ulta. Rumor has it that German beauty brand Zoeva will make its way in Sephora soon. Before I found out about the news, I purchased the Cocoa Blend Palette through their website which was only $26.50. However, I had to pay an extra $9 for international shipping. It's still a lot cheaper than the average Sephora palette! If they hit the shelves and (hopefully) don't raise their prices, I will buy the Caramel Melange Palette. I've been wanting to get my hands on that and not have to deal with international fees, along with being able to get my Sephora rewards points!

BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette

BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette, BECCA x Chrissy Teigen, BECCA x Chrissy, BECCA Rose Gold

I'm not someone who goes crazy for makeup collab products with celebrities or Youtubers. Ok sure, I've got a couple: Champagne Pop, Kylie Cosmetics or MAC's Viva Glam with Miley Cyrus. But I'm not first at the checkout line waiting to buy something just because it has someone's name plastered on it.

I'm not the biggest fan of Chrissy Teigen either. All I know is that she is a model, a cook, and John Legend's wife. Every time her face palette (collaborated with BECCA) popped up, I couldn't look away. I tried to put it in the back of my mind, but the colors were just too gorgeous. It made its way in the Ulta shopping chart. I waited about a week before it came in my mailbox, and I was just too excited!

Sunday's Best & Summer Vibes with a Pink Tulle Skirt

95% of the week, I dress up really casually. Shirts and yoga pants or shorts, but when it comes to going somewhere nice, I want to primp up.

Our Wedding Reception Playlist

I fondly look back on our wedding day with bliss and giddiness, and I would relive it over and over again. Throughout my engagement, I was worried sick about having to invite so many people (family obligations) and being the center of attention. During the day though, I was just surrounded by SO much love and support from family and friends that I actually wish we invited more people. I just felt so much joy when my cousins from Chicago raved about how much fun they had! My uncle who came all the way from the Philippines told me he was in tears with how much love that surrounded Cecilio and I. One of my dad's best friends, John (whose wedding was 20 years ago and my dad was the best man for) told my sister that he could feel my dad's presence. My best friend said this was the most fun wedding she has ever been to.

Sephora VIB Rouge Fall 2017 Event (+ a haul)

Sephora VIB Rouge Fall 2017 Event

I've been a card carrying Sephora VIB member for 2 years (the Beauty insiders who spend $350), and this is the first year I've donned the VIB Rouge status (the shamelessly I-spent-$1000 club). What's the difference? The Rouge members get first dibs on the Spring and Fall sales, free shipping without having to spend $50 (this to me is the biggest perk), a private concierge that will help you with any beauty concerns, and invitations to exclusive events, such as the Fall 2017 Event.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks

Who the hell is Charlotte Tilbury and why are people so crazy about her? I used to wonder.

May Beauty Favorites

Wow, we are almost halfway into 2017! Isn't that amazing?! I haven't been wearing a lot of makeup, though I have splurged quite a bit in April, and a teeny bit in May...Cecilio and I are getting more settled in our apartment, so helping him paying rent is always on the back of my mind. I am going to the Sephora VIB Rouge event this coming Saturday to scope out the new fall releases, though it feels like the new products don't really wow me. I'm just going mostly for the experience and since I am a VIB Rouge member, I might as well make the most of it, right?

Here are some of the products I've been loving this May:

Beauty Brands I want to see in Ulta

Ever since I became an Ulta card member in 2014, I've noticed more brands making their way in the shelves. Last year, Makeup Revolution hit the stores. Recently, Sleek MakeUP and Zoella Beauty became available online. I've only known about them through UK bloggers (along with reading the ever-so-famous Zoella's blog) and now US beauty girls have access to the 3 British brands. Since then, there have been other European brands selling at the one stop beauty shop, such as Catrice and Bronx Colors. Korean beauty has also been taking over Ulta. NARS is selling a few things (such as the famous Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer), and now MAC and Wet 'n' Wild are coming (though they are already on the website).

I was going to add Dose of Colors to this list until I found out that they ARE going to be sold at Ulta online...not sure about the actual storefront though.

Also, Zoeva is coming to Sephora! How awesome is that?! I ordered their Cocoa Blend palette and have been using it (I will review it next month!), but I have been wanting the Caramel Melange palette too. Now I will be able to purchase it and get extra points! Along with more Ulta points with these new brands popping up, and there is going to be a new shopping complex near my apartment where they will be opening up an Ulta! Oh boy, I am going to be in trouble...

What brand will be next? Here are the ones I want to see in stores near me.

Hannah & Cecilio: 3.18.17 Wedding Photos

Right now it's 1:13 am and Cecilio and I just received our wedding photos yesterday, and it was nice especially because yesterday marked our 2 month wedding anniversary. I am so so in awe with how much love was captured not only between us but from all of our loved ones. Our photographer did an amazing job, and it was just the best day ever! I wish I could relive it over and over again. We have around 800 photos from our photographer, and I wish I could share them all with you but I do have a select few of our favorites that I would like to share.

Why I, as a Californian, prefer Five Guys over In-N-Out

In California, In-N-Out Burger is kind of a cult. To be expressing any sort of indifference about the West Coast chain is considered blasphemy here.

NYX Away We Glow Liquid Highlighters

NYX Away We Glow Liquid Highlighters, NYX Away We Glow, NYX Highlighters, NYX Daytime Halo, NYX Gold Rush

I've been really on a roll with the liquid beauty products, huh? First, I'm digging the NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer (on my previous post) and now these babies.

NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer

Can you believe that it's going to be summer next month?! I can't. While some people are gearing up to get that glowing tan, I got mine early from going to Mexico in March for my honeymoon and being out in the sun every single day. While I loved my bronzed look, I did not love how my foundations became too light for me and didn't match the rest of my body.

Lupus Update

Well, this post is very fitting right now because May is Lupus Awareness Month and because I am under Cecilio's employee health insurance, I am now able to see my old doctors again from UC Davis Medical Center.

My First Glossier Haul

glossier, glossier soothing face mist, glossier cloud paint, glossier generation g lipstick, glossier mint balm dotcom,

For the past few months, there's been Facebook ads for Glossier popping up on my Newsfeed. Eventually, a lot of the bloggers I followed started reviewing some of their products. I would go on their website, intrigued with their approach to minimalist beauty: the "skincare first, makeup second" mantra and the fact that you can see texture and natural pores on the models. It's the antithesis of Anastasia and ColourPop (aka the "InstaGlams" of the beauty world with the caked and photoshopped faces). Finally, a beauty brand that embraces enhancing your features rather than hiding them.

April Beauty Favorites + More Life Updates

If March was a crazy month, April for me was even moreso. Right now I'm getting used to married life and my new last name, and I love it. Cecilio and I moved on April 7, and we've been going back and forth getting our stuff together. Our apartment is on the 2nd floor, so he and his dad were struggling so much to get our couch and bed up the stairs because it is winding. His parents also bought us a new dining table, which I'm so thankful for so that we don't have to eat on the coffee table or floor. We've also bought some shelves and new decor.

Influenster: Origins #MyPerfectWorld VoxBox*

Influenster, Origins, Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash, Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer, Origins GinZing Eye Cream, Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins Renewal Cream, Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask, #MyPerfectWorld, Influenster Voxbox, Influenster Origins VoxBox

Though makeup is my first love, I have been falling more for skincare. I love the fresh, clean feeling of washing and cleansing my face before I go to bed, and I like experimenting (but not too much because I'm afraid that my skin might react) with different products that will give me soft, glowing, and youthful skin. So when Influenster sent me an email notifying me that I was receiving the Origins #MyPerfectWorld VoxBox*, I was super excited and checked the mail everyday until my box of goodies have finally arrived!

Mexican Beauty Haul: Renova, Ultrafemme, & Zan Zusi

Mexican Beauty Brands, Renova Makeup, Ultrafemme Makeup, Zan Zusi, Ultrafemme Rubor Compacto Cabos, Ultrafemme Black Eyeliner Gel, Zan Zusi Lápiz Delineador de Ojos Negro, Zan Zusi Delineador de Cejas Retráctil Café, Renova Labial Máxima Andrea, Renova Esmalte para Uñas Dulce

While I was in Playa del Carmen for my honeymoon, Cecilio and I made some frequent trips to the supermarket for snacks, hair products, water and other essentials. I would stop by the beauty aisle, of course. The supermarkets had mostly American beauty brands such as Maybelline or Revlon. There was even a Sephora and a MAC off of 5th Ave. But come on, I can get those anywhere, anytime! I wanted to purchase unique Mexican makeup brands. They were a bit hard to find, but not impossible.

The prettiest, most comfortable (non-drying) lipsticks for Spring

spring lipstick, NARS Audacious Jane, Revlon Berry Rich, Clinique Rose Pop, Urban Decay Manic, Rimmel Berry Rich, Tarte Double Duty Renegade

Though I do miss my fall burgundy and burnt orange shades, I am so excited about bringing out the rosy shades for spring! Moving and packing all of my makeup made me realize (well, duh) how much makeup I had. I never really comprehended it until I had to pack multiple boxes for my makeup, organizers, nail polishes, skincare products, etc. So rather than buying more and more lipsticks (though I'm drooling over the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, just not Pillowtalk), I decided to rediscover some of the ones I already had for this post and to use everyday.

My Ulta Platinum Perk (20% off) Haul

April is a dangerous month for buying beauty products: not only is the Sephora VIB sale about to start (tomorrow!), but Ulta is currently having the 20% off sales for their Platinum members. To be a Platinum member, you have to spend $450/year, and I think it's worth it more than Sephora VIB because you can also drugstore makeup alongside high end, some essentials (I purchase cotton balls and micellar water there), and avail of the Benefit Brow bar and hair salon.

Anti-Wishlist: Beauty Products I won't buy

I have posted a lot of wishlists in this blog, but I've seen others post an Anti-Haul, Anti-Wishlist: where you list products you wouldn't be caught dead buying or wearing. Maybe it's a new product out on the market that everyone is going crazy for but makes you yawn, or maybe it just doesn't go well with your skin tone. Or maybe you don't support the collaboration with the beauty influencer. Whatever it is, there are some products you could probably do without.

YSL Vernis À Lèvres Pop Water Glossy Lip Stain (Onde Rose)

YSL Vernis À Lèvres Pop Water Glossy Lip Stain (Onde Rose)

I've always been drawn to the luxurious packaging of YSL, particularly the lipsticks, but I haven't been very wowed when I swatched them at Sephora.

I Heart Spring Tag

Happy April!

It's been a while since I did one of these, but I was tagged by Kay from Shoes and Glitter for this awesome little survey! If you haven't already, please check Kay out, she is awesome. She is so sweet and has great in-depth beauty reviews with oh-so-cute photos. I am looking forward to spring and lighter clothes, although it's been windy where I live >_<;

March Beauty Favorites + Obvious Life Updates

Hello beauties!

March has been a whirlwind of a month for me. For those who have been following my blog, you know that I got married on the 18th to the love of my life, my best friend whom I have known for 10 years and dated for 8 years. 2 days after the wedding, we went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico for our honeymoon. It was a week's worth of swimming, relaxation, adventure, and eating amazing food. Expect a few upcoming posts in regards to the wedding and honeymoon soon, and definitely expect the professional photos when we get them in May. I also shopped for Mexican makeup brands, so I will be posting about a haul in a bit. Oh, can I mention that during our whole stay in Mexico, my lips were insanely soft and moisturized? I did not have a single flake or chapped lip. Now in Northern California, I'm suffering again. The humidity there was pretty good for my lips. I could go on and on about how soft, plump and healthy my lips felt.

Oh, and now our wedding coordinator found my blog because I posted our food tasting day onto the Facebook Page and tagged the restaurant, whom in turn shared my post. So she brought it up during our last meeting, and has been so excited to read the upcoming posts about the wedding. Also, my cousin Johanna found out about this blog when I tagged Cecilio on a few of my photos using our wedding hashtag #chsugarforever on Instagram, and she started following it. As much as I try to keep this blog a secret in person, I don't mind that they know. If it was an immediate family member or someone I knew from high school, then that would make me shudder.
